Vinexpo 2009 was like a barometer of the wine and spirits markets worldwide and caught everyone’s attention. The industry showed that it was prepared to brave the storm and strive to beat the recession at this trade exhibition that has lost none of its key importance.
The energetic inventiveness of the exhibitors attracted prominent, very professional visitors within the pleasant, yet hard-working atmosphere of the exhibition with its stylish stands and significant programme of conferences and tastings.
Together, they managed in just 5 days to dispel the doubts, to assess the condition of the whole industry and kick-start business. “Confidence is picking up again”, commented Vinexpo chairman Xavier de Eizaguirre. “After several months of uncertainty on international markets, we (trade professionals) were a little worried about this 15th Vinexpo. In fact it turned to be a very high quality exhibition with a lot of business done.”
