History and strategy: 1981/2011
Created in 1981, by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vinexpo exhibition has established itself over the years as the key event for major international operators in the wine and spirits sector.
General policy
Every two years since its inception in Bordeaux, France in 1981, Vinexpo hosts trade professionals from all the wine and spirits producing regions in the world. Each exhibitor uses his/her allotted space to display products before a very select audience of visitors consisting solely of wine and spirits professionals from more than 140 countries.

The Organisation
On 18 June 2008, Vinexpo SAS set up a Supervisory Board and an Executive Board.
The majority shareholder of Vinexpo is the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB).
44 large wine and spirits companies also have shares in Vinexpo.
